Azimuth

Azimuth is a public-key infrastructure on Ethereum. Ownership and networking keys live in azimuth.eth, written through ecliptic.eth. A point is a number with a ~name. Azimov looks that point up, pins its networking key, and dials it.

Points

Rank is the size of the number:

RankSpanNameExample
Galaxy256one syllable~zod, ~nut
Star65,280two syllables~marzod
Planet~4 billionfour syllables~sampel-palnet

Stars spawn and sponsor planets. Galaxies spawn and sponsor stars. Azimov walks that chain to a galaxy for discovery and relay. Galaxy.

Moons and comets exist in the address space. Login is a point you own on-chain: galaxy, star, or planet.

Keys

Each point stores an encryption public key (CryptKey) and an authentication public key. Login rederives them from a wallet or a master ticket, imports a key from a running ship, or sets them. Keys covers rederive, reset, life (key revision), and rift (continuity).

What az does with it

  1. You log in as a point you own.
  2. Your planet publishes where it lives on a dest-map its sponsor galaxy holds.
  3. A peer types ~you. Azimov finds the point, checks the key, and opens a WireGuard tunnel.

Each installed peer answers on the kernel interface as zod and zod.azimov.network. A pending peer does not. ~zod is not a label. az ssh still takes ~you. az ssh config prints a Host stanza for stock ssh.
