macOS and Linux

Apple Silicon, and Linux x86_64 or arm64. On Linux, install Homebrew first. The bottle is built for glibc systems such as Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora.

brew tap tnd/az https://tap.tnd.gg
brew install tnd/az/az

An administrator registers the daemon once. The daemon needs that privilege to open the network interface. The command installs a startup job: launchd on macOS, systemd on Linux.

sudo azimuthd install-system-daemon

From your own account, sudo is enough. A root shell must pass --ssh-user and name an account that is not root.

If it is stopped:

az start

That starts the installed daemon. Login is separate. az stop stops the daemon.

Then log in.

az vs Azure CLI

Homebrew core already has az (Azure CLI). This az is tnd/az/az. If az login talks about Azure subscriptions, you are on the wrong one. Check az --version and which az after install. Releases are on the changelog.

Wallet, a master ticket, or a key from a running ship: login. Dest adds you, and you accept, before SSH or copy will work.
